PEIFA taking tag orders

The PEI Fishermen’s Association is now confirming trap and net tag orders for the 2013 fishing season for Lobster Fishing Areas 24, 25 and 26A. 

The PEIFA tag order is in progress and tags are scheduled to arrive by early March. This order will include tags and replacement tags for all species other than tuna. Tags will be available for pick up in Charlottetown and several pick up days are planned for Western and Eastern PEI once the tags arrive. Fishers can now contact the PEIFA office to confirm their orders.

In addition letters are being mailed out to all PEI harvesters with further details and as well as a tag ordering form. Tags for New Brunswick and Nova Scotia customers will be mailed to directly to them. Applicable shipping charges will apply. Tag mailing is also available for PEI fishers if required for an additional fee.

Tag costs for 2013 are 40 cents per tag. For more information please contact the PEIFA office at (902) 566-4050.
