Glenn Scott, president of ExxonMobil Canada, will speak at the OTANS annual dinner at the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax on March 5. He will highlight the successful track record of the project, which marks its tenth year of production in 2009.

This promises to be a busy year at Sable, with a new production being drilled and a major maintenance program scheduled. Scott is expected to discuss these investments, and will highlight the operational success of the Sable project over its first 10 years.

ExxonMobil announced in October at the OTANS’ CORE Conference that it would drill another production well at Alma (to bring the total at Alma to four producing wells) and that the company would also re-examine the economics of tapping other gas reserves in the vicinity.

There is also a significant maintenance program in the works for Sable for 2009. In June of last year, the company issued an Expression of Interest for a 60-person-plus accommodation unit to be available from April through October of this year. No new details have been provided since, and it is hoped that Scott will expand on the maintenance needs and service requirements at the dinner.

Registration and further information can be found on the OTANS website.
