With just over a week to go before the commercial lobster fishery opens off of southwestern Nova Scotia, there are many visual signs that the Nov. 24 start date is fast approaching.

An emergency meeting was held Sunday afternoon to talk about the possibility of delaying the start of the season, but no agreement could be reached so the start date remains Nov. 24, although further discussion may take place.

Fishermen are concerned with the price they may receive for their catches since in other lobster fisheries that are underway the price is around $3.

But for now, here's a look at preparations for the season at the wharfs.

Here's a few scenes from Yarmouth County.
